Description
The pharmacist is required to dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals and provide consultative services to both clients and health care providers in accordance with all laws and responsibilities set by the BC College of Pharmacists and Eastside Pharmacy employee’s policy and procedure handbook.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The pharmacist is responsible for providing leadership, mentoring and supervision to all staff in the pharmacy, working with pharmacy manager to oversee staff, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations governing pharmacy and the pharmaceutical industry
- Filling, checking, dispensing and delivering medications accurately
- Patient counselling
- Perform patient follow-up calls
- Provide medical information as required to patients and other healthcare professionals
- Ensure prescription pricing is accurate and payment methods have been established
- Ensure medications are delivered to the appropriate site as per patient requests
- Provide general customer service for patients and healthcare professionals
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A valid license to practice pharmacy with the BC College of Pharmacists Employment for at least one year in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting
- Medication reviews as needed
- Injection certified is an asset
- Experienced with Kroll is an asset but willing to train
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills
- Must be flexible to work early mornings and weekends
- Assist in leading a successful team and able to handle stress
